I am confined within the walls of a palace,
Surrounded by smiles of malice.
A fortress of trust I built,
To stand beside those I cherished
A world I wished to share,
To weave them into my dreams.
Thence I fell—
for their words so subtle, as if true,
failing to see
the truth behind their,
perfect charades, their flawless façades.
Now, a dummy—that is what I live as,
one that brings them shade and attention.
But if I falter, I am nothing.
I once yearned to live,
to breathe freely,
yet this bliss remains distant,
a fantasy I can never reach.
The fortress of trust I built lies shattered,
left in solitude, in fear,
perceived as worthless and tattered,
by the very ones I held dear.
